1. Can I transfer credits from other schools?
Yes. If you have prior college/University credits or technical school courses, you can transfer those documented credit hours towards your Inter-American University degree. 2. How much will my tuition be?
The tuition is PAID BY COURSES AND CREDITS. There is also an initial $450.00 registration fee covering the costs of enrollment, administration, and curriculum materials (Do NOT include books.). Please refer to the website, catalog or call for more tuition details.
3. Can be awarded credit for previous Academic and Work Experience?
Absolutely! Students should select courses they have not taken and/or do not have experience of training in. To receive life experience credits, your skills & knowledge attained through work experience, formal or specialized training, military service, attendance at workshops/conferences/seminars, licensure or certifications, professional authored papers or books, community service, or by other means must directly relate to one or more of the course curriculums listed for the degree program that you select.
4. When can I enroll?
Inter-American University does not impose an academic calendar on its students. Therefore u can enroll at anytime. AU’s rolling admissions and graduation policy program allows you to start your studies immediately after registration. There are no semester timetables to keep up with. You will decide when to begin the program. Our students graduate when they complete their degree requirements. Each year Inter-American University has a graduation ceremony for all graduates. Inter-American University has students in over 7 countries around the world. We make every effort for our students to attend the ceremony by moving it to a new location each year.
6. Can I transfer my Inter-American University credits to another university?
Although Inter-American University is an accredited institution, this does not guarantee that our credits are transferable to other schools. We recommend that you check with the prospective transfer school ahead of time to see their acceptance policy. Inter-American University degree programs are complete curricula offerings. Students cannot enroll just for individual courses for transfer.
5. How long will it take to complete my degree?
This depends entirely upon your available time and motivation AND ALSO IN THE RESULT OF THE ACADEMIC EVALUATION.
7. Is the entire program completed through distance learning?
In most of the cases Yes. Although IAU has Schools and Colleges that provide On-site training, most of Inter-American students work at their own pace and location. All exams and research can be completed through the Internet with a student pass-code and identification number. A major benefit of Inter-American and its distance learning programs is that you can earn your degree in your spare time, without compromising your work schedule.
8. Does InterAmerican offer Scholarships?
Yes. IAU attracts bright, talented, idealistic, and diverse students from around the country and around the world. Each year we offer scholarships to top students and prospective students who have demonstrated academic achievement, leadership, and commitment. We invite you to apply for one of these scholarships. 9. Do I ever have to attend a class or seminar?
If you are enrolled at an International Accredited Program for Distance Learning you are not required, however, if you apply for a China or Malaysia On-campus program, definitely need to attend hour classes, please call for more details.
10. Is InterAmerican University recognized for its degree program?
Yes, many of our students are recommended and/or have their tuition pain for by their companies-including Fortune 500 companies, government agencies, small businesses and more. We strongly suggest you check with your human resources department prior to enrolling to see if they will offer you tuition reimbursement towards IAU.
11. Is InterAmerican University accredited?
Inter-American University is accredited by the International Council for Open and distance Education, (ICDE). As a part of our licensing procedure and licensing renewal process, IAU must submit to the Department of Education materials for review including but not limited to curricula, course materials, qualifications of faculty and administrative staff, methods of operations and financial records proving stability. Additionally, Inter-American University submits a self evaluation to the Distance Education and Training Council (DETC) established in1926 as an Accrediting Agency and in 1956 was recognized by the US Department of Education.
12. How do I take exams?
All exams can be taken through our online exam room. After enrolling, all Inter-American students receive a student number and pass-code enabling them to complete their exams, or they will receive exams via e-mail.
13. Can I sit for the CPA exam or other professional exam?
Due to the fact that Inter-American University is an international distance-learning institution, we do not always meet the regional requirements that these exams require. We strongly recommend you check with the licensing body for these exams first to see if they will accept Inter-American University’s credits.
15. Are there any entrance exams necessary for acceptance into Inter-American University?
Inter-American University is an international institution we do not require entrance exams that a regional school may require, however, some of the National accredited programs require entrance exam like SAT, ESL, GMAT, etc.
14. How many students are enrolled at Inter-American University?
Inter-American presently has over 700 students enrolled in our Distance Learning program.
16. Is it possible to complete a course in another language?
Although all of the programs are in English, we also offer some of the course in other languages, with students in over 19 countries around the world; we accept research and course work in several languages, please check with the admissions office for more details.
